A bit about ourselves

Springhalen (the springtail) is Kirsten and Flemming Andersen, and our daughter Maya. We live in the village of Kappendrup, a little North of Odense, on the island of Funen, Denmark. We have lived for 3-years in Pennsylvania, USA, participating in shows and making a lot of friends among American hobbyists. After returning to Denmark we discovered that the feeders available where less than satisfactory, something had to be done.

We have kept and bred dartfrogs and other terrarium animals for quite a few years. Dartfrogs have a special place in our hearts due to their colors and behavior. We aim not only to keep various species but to breed them for several generations and in several lines. Keeping dartfrogs and producing their food does require some specialized knowledge and when we started this homepage the amount of information available in Danish was minuscule. Now things are looking so much better, that we have decided to make our pages available for our English and German speaking friends.

Our area of interest is always expanding, we are now also working with geckoes, larger frogs, salamanders and invertebrates, thus needing larger feeders. This will be reflected on the homepage.

Besides providing information on husbandry we also sell our own "homegrown"  feeders. Basically every penny we make is transferred into the "farm", to develop new feeders and improve on old ones.

We are members of The Danish Froggroup, Danish Exotic Insects Association as well as The Scandinavian Herpetological Association we participate in herpetologicals shows and expos in Europe.
